Border collies were bred and trained originally as sheep dogs, and their name refers to the border of England and Scotland where so many border collies worked. They are energetic, medium-sized dogs, and collies are easily trained.

Scientific Name: Canis lupus familiaris

Characteristics: Displaying the energy and intelligence for which border collies are known, this accurate figure looks ready to bound and play. Not only are border collies hard workers, but they also enjoy fun and play.

Size and Color: Black and white, with a splash of red for a collar, this border collie is 5 inches long and 1 inches high, about the same as a bratwurst.

The Border Collie is part of the Best in Show collection.
